McNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY
The mission of the McNeese State University Police Department is to provide a safe and secure educational environment for all that attend, work, or visit the university campus.
1. To enhance the relationships between the University Police Department, through community engagements with the campus community.
2. To improve the University police Department, through training and personal development opportunities.
3. Foster relationships through partnerships with on and off campus organizations and departments.
The University Police Department is a team of professionals working to provide a safe environment to help ensure that the educational mission of the University is fully realized. The department operates 24-hours a day and is staffed by commissioned police officers.
University police officers are vested with all the powers, authority, and responsibilities of any police officer of the state on property owned or operated by the University, including adjacent public streets. Police authority is derived from Section 17:1805 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes.
The University Police Department has primary jurisdiction for the main campus, the McNeese Farm, the Athletics Complex, and over 1,600 acres of land that is used for ranching, farming, and research. 24-hour patrol protection is in place for the main campus, parking lots, and residence halls.
Staff, students, and University organizations can also receive free training on a host of topics by contacting the department, including an introduction to University Police, active shooter response, personal safety, crime prevention, and other topics available upon request.
By dialing 9-1-1 from any cell phone, you can ask the dispatcher for the McNeese State University Police to report an emergency on the campus.

In compliance with Louisiana Act No. 157 (R.S. 17:3:3138.1), McNeese State University provides all enrolled students the opportunity to complete a voluntary mental health privacy waiver form that allows the university to share protected health information with designated individuals in the event of a mental health crisis.
I am a McNeese graduate with a bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science and a concentration in Child and Family Studies. As a student, I competed on the rodeo team and served on the SGA board. I earned my master’s degree in 2022 from the University of South Dakota in Educational Administration and Leadership with a concentration in Adult and Higher Ed. I have over 13 years of experience in adult education and 20 years of educational experience.
My favorite part of being a Freshman Advisor is helping students navigate their new life routine as a college freshman by offering support with in-person office visits or by email to help students meet their goals. I always remind students of my favorite BB King quote – “Education is one thing no one can ever take away from you.” I believe that supporting students is vital to a student's success.
In my spare time, I raise registered American Brahman cattle, and I enjoy all the "country girl" things like hunting, fishing, growing a garden and cooking.
