Domestic Students

Start Here



  1. Submit your official ACT or SAT scores to McNeese directly from the testing agency. McNeese's ACT school code is 1594 and SAT school code is 6403.
  2. Submit your high school transcripts directly to McNeese. If you attended any college courses while enrolled in high school, submit transcripts from those institutions as well.
    1. Home schooled students: Submit a copy of your home school transcripts and Home School State Approval letter.
    2. Out-of-state high school students: Have your high school submit your transcript to McNeese, and then your final transcript after you graduate.

Within 1-3 business days, you will receive an email notification with your acceptance status and information on any additional application steps if necessary, along with your student Banner ID and password. (Your Banner login is NOT the same as your App Stat login.) Through Banner, you will be able to:
    • See your admission and financial aid status
    • Find contact information for your freshman advisor
    • Register for classes
    • Pay your tuition and fees (including the $20 non-refundable application fee)
  2. Submit Proof of Immunization Compliance Form
  3. Submit proof of selective service registration (males ages 18-25 only)

McNeese's Dual Enrollment program is a great way for current high school students to get jump start on their college careers. As a dual enrollment student, you can attend McNeese classes on campus for both high school and college credit, and graduate high school with a year or more of college already complete.

Application Requirements

  • You are at least 15 years old.
  • You are enrolled in the 11th or 12th grade at a Louisiana high school or in a state-approved home school program.
  • You are on track to complete TOPS/University Core Curriculum.
  • You are in good standing with your high school or home-school program.
  • You have permission to participate from the high school and your parent or guardian.
  • Additionally, if you've taken the ACT or SAT, you meet the minimum composite, English, and math Scores
  • Or, if you haven't taken the ACT or SAT, you meet the minimum scores.

  1. Submit the course enrollment request form to your high school counselor.
  2. Have high school or homeschool transcripts sent directly from your high school/homeschool to McNeese.
  3. Have ACT, SAT and/or PLAN scores sent directly from your high school or the testing agency to McNeese.
  4. Homeschooled students: Submit copy of your home-school state approved letter to McNeese.
 

It's important to note that, as a visiting student, your enrollment is limited to the term your application is approved for, and you are not eligible for financial aid since you are not considered degree-pursuing student at McNeese. If you want to transfer to McNeese, you will have to meet the admission requirements and apply as a transfer student.

International Students

A final admissions decision cannot be made until the McNeese Office of International Programs has received all required official transcripts, forms, documents and exam scores. After you're approved for admission to McNeese and issued an I-20 form, you will need to file a student visa application.

Other Credits

If you have completed Advanced-Level coursework through the Cambridge International Examination System or International Baccalaureate coursework, your credit could be used at McNeese. All transfer credit is evaluated on an individual basis. See this table to find out your transfer equivalencies.

  3. Have your transcripts or mark sheets sent to McNeese directly from your high school. The Office of International Programs will calculate your GPA.
  4. Submit your official TOEFL or IELTS score to McNeese. If you can't provide TOEFL or IELTS scores, you can demonstrate English proficiency in one of the ways outlined in our admission requirements.
  5. Submit a copy of your passport
  6. Submit a signed affidavit and bank letter from your sponsor.

Applications that are received after the deadline may not be processed in time for admission or scholarship consideration. Be sure to allow at least two months before the application deadline for visa request, issuance and travel.

  • If you have attended only U.S. institutions for undergraduate study, have your official transcripts sent directly to McNeese from all universities or colleges previously attended.
  • If you have attended an institution outside of the U.S., submit an Evaluation of Foreign Credentials directly from the evaluation service to McNeese. McNeese recommends The Evaluation Company (TEC; formerly SpanTran) for evaluation services. We will also accept evaluations from: World Education Services Inc. and Global Credential Evaluators.

Students transferring with fewer than 18 credit hours:

Students who have taken fewer than 18 credit hours must submit an official High School transcripts and diploma in addition to college/university transcripts. Students must submit SAT, ACT, or Accuplacer scores unless they can show successful completion of college-level English and Mathematics. Students who have successfully completed college-level English will not be required to show proof of English proficiency.

  • Have your transcripts and diplomas from all secondary schools attended sent directly to McNeese. The Office of International Programs will calculate your GPA
  • If you have attended only U.S. institutions for undergraduate study, have your official transcripts sent directly to McNeese from all universities or colleges previously attended.

Ashley Bass

I am a McNeese graduate with a bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science and a concentration in Child and Family Studies. As a student, I competed on the rodeo team and served on the SGA board. I earned my master’s degree in 2022 from the University of South Dakota in Educational Administration and Leadership with a concentration in Adult and Higher Ed. I have over 13 years of experience in adult education and 20 years of educational experience.

My favorite part of being a Freshman Advisor is helping students navigate their new life routine as a college freshman by offering support with in-person office visits or by email to help students meet their goals. I always remind students of my favorite BB King quote – “Education is one thing no one can ever take away from you.”  I believe that supporting students is vital to a student's success.

In my spare time, I raise registered American Brahman cattle, and I enjoy all the "country girl" things like hunting, fishing, growing a garden and cooking.
